Common Written Examination for Banks

Indian Association for banks announced a new pattern of examination for Bank Officers and Probationary Officers. CWE is an examination under which 19 banks of several sectors including Public sector banks got registered and a common examination will be held for all these banks at a time and this examination score will be considered by banks to recruit probationary officers. Now separate examination is not required for each bank and this examination will be considered by all the 19 banks. But State Bank of India and it`s associative banks will not come under this category and a separate PO examination will be held for these banks. This common examination will be held twice a year. This year applications issuing started and closing date of issuing applications is 31st July. Candidates who qualify in this examination are eligible to appear for all the 19 banks that comes under this group.It would consist of five papers (in reasoning, quantitative aptitude, and so on) for 250 marks, besides a descriptive test in English. Candidates who qualify in this examination and get through the Cut off score can directly attend Group discussion and Interview.

Eligibility conditions for Common Bank Examination

As on 1.07.2011
- Age to be minimum: 20 yrs & maximum: 30 yrs
- Must have a degree in any discipline from a recognized university

Test pattern for common bank exam is same as previous banking recruitments with Objective & Descriptive papers for a total of 250 marks.For every wrong answer in objective test, 0.25 would be reduced as negative mark.
