Osmania University is inviting applications from all the eligible candidates to take the Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (AP-SET), 2012 and to recruit them under the designations as Assistant Professors/Lecturers in various Universities/Degree Colleges/ Institutions of Higher Education in Andhra Pradesh.
The AP SET 2012 will be conducted on 27-July-2012 (Friday) for 24 subjects approved by University Grants Commission falling under Humanities, Social Sciences and Sciences across 12 Centers in the State.
Eligibility Criteria for AP SET 2012
The applicants must have a Master's Degree from any UGC recognized university with minimum 55% marks for general/BC candidates and 50% marks for SC/ST/PH/VH. Final year Post-Graduate students who are appearing for exams may also apply for the AP SET 2012 exam.
Ph.D. degree holders can get relaxation from 55% to 50% marks in their Maste'r's degree.
Applicants should appear for AP-SET 2012 eam in the subject of their Post-Graduation only. In case APSET 2012 does not include the subject of specialization, the applicant may appear in UGC-NET / UGC-CSIR NET which is held twice a year
Manual verification of all the academic certificates and caste certification will be carried only after the qualifying exam.
No mark sheet will be given for APSET 2012 exam. And there will be no revaluation of papers is allowed for APSET 2012 exam.
APSET 2012 has no upper age limit
A candidate can attend for the APSET exam any number of times

Registration Fee for APSET 2012
Registration fee for APSET 2012 under OC category is Rs. 700
Registration fee for APSET 2012 under BC category is Rs. 500
Registration fee for APSET 2012 under SC/ST/PH/VH category is Rs. 250
Applicants has to pay the registration fee through Bank Challan by down loading from AP- SET website. For further details visit www.apset.org or www.osmania.ac.in
Applicants should download the bank challan along with the application form from the official website and to attach the same while submitting it.
Important Dates for APSET 2012 Examination
Submission of on-line applications of APSET 2012 Exam starts from 3-May-2012 and open till 31-May-2012 without any late fee
With late fee of Rs.100 applicants submit the applications for APSET 2012 Exam starting from 1-June-2012 till 5-June-2012
With late fee of Rs.200 applicants can submit the online applications for APSET 2012 starting from 6-June-2012 till 10-June-2012
Date of Examination of APSET 2012 Exam is on Friday, 27-July-2012 from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm
An additional time of 30 minutes will be provided to Visually Challenged Candidates separately for paper-I and paper-II and 45 minutes extra time for paper-III. In case required, They will also be provided with a scribe who should be a graduate in a subject other than candidate's subject.
